Getting things in order

I got these crazy awesome leggings on clearance at Target last week. Today I I wore them in public for the first time and even got a compliment on them. I picked up our license plate from the auction place where Herbie is. I wasn't allowed to see Herbie because he's in the junkyard section, but they brought me out the license plates and the Idaho park pass sticker. I have been in too much hip pain to cook. But somehow I managed to make it through a quick shopping trip to get pizza for dinner. It's a bummer that we had to cancel plans to go to Salt Lake for conference. But Tyler is still in so much pain from his accident, as well as the half marathon, and I'm just in pain from the half marathon. It's a six-hour trip each way and we would have been going 6 hours Saturday then turning around and coming back six hours for Sunday. The house, the yard, and the garage are a wreck since you haven't have the time or energy to get chores done since we were traveling to Boise after work to purchase our car several days this week. This weekend, we have vowed to do nothing but clean up and rest. We are sad to not see Julia and Matt, but happy that they are planning to come here for Thanksgiving. Oh yeah, I groomed vivee yesterday. She is so soft now.

Visiting teaching and activity days

Today I went visiting teaching to a girl named Madeline for the first time. It was nice to get to know her and the family a bit. Then I did my activity days on the topic of music. 2 girls played instruments, and almost all of the girls got to share a favorite song. I walked home and I've been having some hip pain. Too much pain to cook. But I was able to get some laundry going.

A new Ford Fusion

So today we got another car! A Ford Fusion Hybrid. We got a great deal and we are really happy with it. It will mostly be Taylor's car to commute to work and when we have trips and things like that. Since it's a hybrid it gets awesome gas mileage! It gets about double the triple the gas mileage of my Envoy, which is kind of sad. The hybrid is 41 miles per gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon highway. But there are ways to make it even more fuel efficient that Tyler is figuring it out. Seems like we are buying a car every 3 weeks because we pretty much are!

Grocery Outlet

Today I finally went to Grocery Outlet. I learned of Grocery Outlet when I receive carrot chips from my first favorite things party. So naturally I ended up with a bunch of chips when I went there today. Lots of inexpensive options that are non-GMO, organic, dye free, etc. Also, I think we are buying a new car tomorrow. And Tyler is going

to the chiropractor tomorrow. Hoping that it helps him feel better.

Recovering

I spent the day in bed! I am still super sore from the race, and it was nice to just be in bed all day. I missed church because walking is painful. I was actually able to get a lot of little things on my to do list done from my tablet.

Boise Fit One Half Marathon

We did the Boise Fit One Half Marathon today! I really didn't think I would be able to finish it because I hadn't broken into a run for about a year, but I finished it! My time was 3 hours and 12 minutes 38 seconds. I was definitely on the slow side of the other half marathoners, but I was pretty excited about the time. I must have looked pretty rough because someone asked if I was OK after I crossed the finish line. We had to get up super early and out the door so that was a little bit stressful, but it was worth it. Paul, Jessica, Caitlin, Tyler, and Heidi and I all finished.

 Towards the end, my goal became to not let these grannies beat me, and I really had to pick up my pace because they sure were fast!

Oh yeah and Caitlin gave me this crazy fauxhawk!

By the way, I came home and soaked for over an hour in a warm bath of Epsom salts and Eucalyptus essential oil, but I am still super sore! There is no telling when I may walk again... I am really grateful that I was healthy enough to finish the race!

Tank of gas

Filled up my Envoy today for the first time. I don't remember the last time I paid this much for a tank of gas!

A wreck

Tyler got in a wreck this morning which included him spinning out across the freeway into oncoming traffic.  It's a miracle that he is ok. We will find out tomorrow the fate of the car. Hopefully we can get everything figured out with Tyler feeling better as well . He is really sore . On the Brightside, Andrea got her mission call to Calgary, Canada! We are so excited for her! 

A perfect car

I got my car back from being fixed and it is so perfect! I was so excited to have it back after being without it for a few days!

Today it was stake conference for us, so we went and saw Lilly in her primary program. Heidi was there too. Sunday school was great, and a nice treat because Tyler and I usually don't get to be together  for Sunday school since we both teach different classes. Then third hour, we went to a teacher training class. Afterward, there was food at their ward potluck. Then we came home and Tyler  took a nap, then went home teaching. I got a lot of organizing and cleaning done in my and Tyler's offices and the living room which was full of cardboard boxes and other junk. Here are the after photos of my efforts.

Today  we had breakfast upstairs at Ridley's, where Tyler got donuts .  We then went to walk around  one of the Hubble neighborhoods in Middleton  and check out some of the houses there, including stopping at a yard sale at one of the houses that we had walked through several times when we were in the early building process of our house. We actually made several big design choices based on what we had seen in that particular house. Then we went to Ellie's soccer game and tried out my awesome new camping chair. Then we did some cleaning around the house and showed up super late to the adult session of stake conference. Then we went out to Pita Pit with our backyard neighbors, the Mortons. It was actually really fun and we stayed out till about 10:30 telling all kinds of random stories. 

This morning I made some amazing nice cream ! It was just bananas  and cocoa powder, and cinnamon and  vanilla but it was so yummy and I had it for breakfast  and didn't even feel guilty about it ! It whipped really nicely in the blender and had a perfect consistency.  For dinner we went to A&J Pupusas and  it was really good . Tyler had been there before but I hadn't. Tyler then ate candy that he hadn't had for a long time like Starburst .  Then he and vivee got some cuddle time too ! 

Tyler cleaned the kitchen because I told him that my visiting teachers were coming over. My visiting teachers and I had a fantastic conversation and really got to know each other in over two hours. It was the second time visiting me and it was really fun. Then, Tyler and I went over to Jessica's house and hung out with Caitlin for a while. Then she went home and we hung out with Heidi until almost midnight. Lots of laughs and storytelling. Here is my kitchen cleaner than it has been in a while!

We got a new car last week! I didn't think we would actually get one when Tyler suggested that we start looking, but this one was just too awesome to pass up. I love driving it!

Tyler got his braces off  and he texted me this picture !  He sure is glad to be able  to be done with those things . Now on to retainers  :-)
